Calling All Anglers! Tomorrow, July 17

To better understand the presence of mercury in the Indian River Lagoon (IRL), Harbor Branch researchers are reaching out to individuals and anglers living along the IRL to help with a study.

Location: The Lagoon House in Palm Bay

Date: Tuesday, July 17th

Time: 12 – 2 PM

About the Research

Please come to The Lagoon House in Palm Bay any time between noon and 2 PM to fill out a brief (10-15 min.) questionnaire and provide a small hair sample, which will be used to detect the presence of mercury. The study, which is related to ongoing dolphin research, will help reveal the relationship between fish consumption and mercury exposure, and what this means in terms of human health and the health of the IRL.

If you have any questions regarding the research, please contact Adam Schaefer at (772) 242-2311 or aschaef3@hboi.fau.edu.
