Volunteers Needed to Help Plant Mangroves!

Join us at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House for mangrove potting events this fall!

Mangroves are an extremely important part of the Indian River Lagoon ecosystem. They provide nursery habitat and prevent erosion. Please help the Marine Resources Council plant mangrove propagules to be used for IRL habitat restoration

All mangrove potting events are held at the Lagoon House from 10am to Noon and are free and open to the public. The Lagoon House is located at:
3275 Dixie Hwy. NE (US-1)
Palm Bay, FL 32901

We have upcoming planting events on the following dates:

Friday, September 21, 2012
Friday, October 5, 2012
Friday, October 19, 2012
Friday, November 2, 2012

For more information please call Kerry Soltis at 321-725-7775.

If you plan on bringing a group or school group of 10 or more people, please call in advance so that we can ensure that we have enough supplies.
