Ecoscape Day at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House
Join the Anglers for Conservation and the Marine Resources Council on the Indian River Lagoon’s western shore to experience the next Ecoscape Day. This community activity is scheduled for 9-11 am on Saturday, Oct 26, 2013, at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House.
Participants in this free event will learn how to live more sustainable lives by changing the ways they interact with their yards and environment. And more importantly, learn how you can help restore the Indian River Lagoon’s water quality.
Instructors will be covering topics like erosion control and shoreline planting, water quality and lawn fertilizing, how to better recognize invasive plants, how to plant trees and native plant landscaping, using effective ground cover and mulch, litter control, and recycling.
Not only is it a great deal, it’s also an excellent opportunity to give back to your community and gain volunteer hours. See how to save time and money, all while having a fun and rewarding experience landscaping and gardening, while learning more about the economics of our Indian River Lagoon Coast’s ecosystem.
The Ted Moorhead Lagoon House is located on the Indian River Lagoon at 3275 Dixie Highway (U.S. 1), two miles south of US-192.
