BBL - Tuesday - February 4 - Understanding Human Effects on Indian River Lagoon Dolphins
Megan Stolen, a research scientist at Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute will be joining us to speak about dolphins. Dolphins are a top predator in the Indian River Lagoon and are susceptible to many risks, many of which are human-related. Dolphins in the Lagoon show high mercury loads and may suffer from other types of pollution. The greatest human-related mortality comes from interactions with recreational fishing gear. These threats will be presented along with ideas for fostering some conservation programs to address these issues.
The presentation is from 12-1 on Tuesday, February 4 at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House. We hope to see you here!
