Brown Bag Lunch - “The Changing Waste Steam: How Non-recyclable Materials affect a MRF (Materials Recovery Facility).”

Hillary Arena Special Projects Coordinator/Recycling Coordinator
Brevard County Solid Waste Management Department will talk about the Materials Recovery Facility

The materials and products we use in our daily lives has evolved.  As more communities shift to single stream recycling collection programs, the volume and variety of the materials collected has increased. This also has meant an increase in the amount of non-recyclable (contaminant) materials.   With the recent opening of a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) here in Brevard County, we invite you to join us for an look at the impacts these non-recyclable materials have on the MRF.  Learn about changing consumer behaviors and how you can do your part to Recycle Often, Recycle Right.

The presentation is from 12-1 on Tuesday, January 6th at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House 3275 Dixie Hwy NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905. We hope to see you here!
